Pension payments in Ukraine started in 2026: what amounts

The Pension Fund of Ukraine started financing pensions and certain social payments in 2026 from January 1. Already on the first day of the year, over a billion hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for these needs. This was reported by the PFU .

Pension payments in Ukraine from January 1, 2026: initial amounts

The Pension Fund of Ukraine reported that pension payments, sick leave, and other social aids started at the beginning of the year. Funds were allocated for main areas:

• pension payments through Ukrposhta — 1.1 billion UAH

• payment of sick leaves — 14.5 million UAH

It is also noted that on January 1, 37.5 thousand citizens applied to the fund. All of them received the necessary services without delays.

Funding of social payments by the Pension Fund: results of 2025

The fund reminded that December 31, 2025, was the final deadline for confirming identity for pension and social payment recipients. As of that date, the Pension Fund of Ukraine had financed social payments in total of over 87 billion UAH.

Of this amount:

• 8.8 billion UAH paid through Ukrposhta

• 59.7 billion UAH transferred through authorized banks

Let us remind you that the Pension Fund of Ukraine reminded that all pension recipients are required to timely report changes in personal data. In case of ignoring this requirement, the state may reduce payments or even demand the return of overpaid funds.
