The High Anti-Corruption Court confiscated property of a police officer worth millions: details of the case
Високий антикорупційний суд вирішив питання про майно правоохоронця вартістю мільйони: деталі розслідування.

According to НАЗК: The High Anti-Corruption Court decided to satisfy the claim of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office regarding the assets belonging to the deputy head of the National Police in Kyiv. As a result, the state received over 3.6 million UAH from the value of an apartment and almost 5 million UAH from its sale, as well as two parking spaces.

The basis for this decision was the data about the official's lifestyle, obtained from the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption, as well as information from the SAP prosecutors. It turned out that the assets were purchased by the police officer's mother-in-law at his request, but the official and his family used them.

The NAPC established that the mentioned assets were purchased in 2020 by the police officer's mother-in-law at his request. However, subsequently, the official and his family used them.

After analyzing the income and expenses of the police officer's family and his relatives, the authorized representatives of the Agency concluded that it was impossible to acquire this property with legal income. The NAPC began monitoring the official's lifestyle in 2024 and discovered that the owner sold the apartment for a significantly higher price after the publication of a report by the program 'Schemes: corruption in details.'

As a result, the increased attention to the assets owned by officials demonstrates the importance of combating corruption and accountability for illegal enrichment.
