Витрати українців за кордоном у 2025 році: прогнози на зниження до 12 мільярдів доларів.

Ukrainians' Expenditures Abroad in 2025

Ukrainians' expenditures abroad in 2025 will decrease by 10% and amount to about $12 billion. This is a significant drop compared to the record spending level in 2023, when the amount reached approximately $20 billion. It is expected that in 2024, expenditures will also experience a sharp decline. Such a reduction in spending may be linked to migration processes, as the population of Ukraine is expected to decrease by approximately 200,000 people in 2025.

Ukrainians' Card Transactions

In the first nine months of 2025, Ukrainians made card transactions amounting to 262 billion hryvnias, which is 1.9% more compared to the same period last year. Of this amount:

  • 213.9 billion hryvnias were spent on purchases at retail terminals;
  • 48.1 billion hryvnias were spent on cash withdrawals.

Experts note that citizens who moved abroad are gradually adapting to new conditions, earning higher incomes locally, and over time, using fewer resources from Ukraine, including card payments. These factors may also contribute to the reduction of Ukrainians' expenditures abroad in the future.

The decrease in Ukrainians' expenditures abroad indicates changes in the economic situation and the behavior of migrants. Adapting to new living conditions and increasing incomes may lead to a reduced dependence on financial resources coming from Ukraine. This, in turn, may affect the country's economy, particularly the volume of remittances and domestic consumer demand.
