Vodafone Ukraine to Increase Rates

According to ХВИЛЯ: Vodafone Ukraine has announced it will raise the price of its 'Year Without Monthly Fees' service for a selection of legacy mobile plans, with the new rates taking effect on February 17. The changes will impact several tariff plans that are no longer available for new subscribers, specifically:

  • Joice
  • Joice Start/Start Special
  • Joice PRO
  • Joice MAX
  • SuperNet Start+
  • SuperNet Unlim
  • Light+

Under the new pricing, the Joice plan will increase from 260 to 330 UAH per four weeks. The Joice Start/Start Special tariff will rise from 270 to 340 UAH for the same period. The cost of the Joice PRO plan will go up from 330 to 400 UAH every four weeks, while the Joice MAX plan will see an increase from 450 to 520 UAH. For the SuperNet Start+ plan, the monthly fee will climb from 260 to 330 UAH, and the SuperNet Unlim plan will rise from 470 to 545 UAH per month. The Light+ plan will also become more expensive, increasing from 185 to 230 UAH per four-week period.

Reasons for the Price Adjustment

Vodafone cites rising business electricity costs as the primary reason for the service fee increases. This move by Vodafone follows a broader industry trend, as competitor Kyivstar has also announced plans to raise prices for a number of its own tariffs starting March 1.

The price adjustments reflect the challenging economic environment for mobile operators in Ukraine, who are adapting to significant increases in energy and operational costs. This trend may influence market competitiveness as consumers seek the most cost-effective options. With Kyivstar also planning tariff hikes, further price increases for mobile services could become commonplace across the industry. These changes may prompt subscribers to re-evaluate their current plans in favor of newer or more economical offerings.
