According to ХВИЛЯ: Vodafone Ukraine warned about mobile communication problems due to an electricity deficit caused by hostile shelling and urged subscribers to help the network cope with the load. On November 20, 2025, the company reported that the energy supply situation negatively impacts the quality of communication.
Kyivstar also confirmed that it lost power to 30% of its network, resulting in about 4% of base stations completely losing functionality. In turn, Lifecell reported that 95% of its network continues to operate but is also taking measures to maintain stability. Lifecell announced the procurement of 3,500 additional generators to ensure uninterrupted network operation.
Recommendations for subscribers
Oleksandr Komarov, a representative of Vodafone Ukraine, noted that this is one of the most difficult days since the summer of 2024.
In light of the situation, the company recommends its subscribers to:
- use home Wi-Fi;
- turn off auto-download of photos and videos;
- reduce video quality to lessen the burden on the network.
These steps can help maintain communication in difficult conditions of energy deficit.
