License Plate Collection Procedure

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has outlined the process for authorized individuals to collect personalized license plates on behalf of the vehicle owner. Under current law, a driver may delegate the retrieval of plates to another person, but proper documentation is required. For private individuals, a notarized power of attorney is mandatory, while legal entities must submit a power of attorney on their official letterhead. The preferred method for collecting the plates is chosen by the driver at the time of application submission.

Conditions for Plate Collection

In-person pickup of license plates is only available at the standardization department of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, located at 19 Mrii Street in Kyiv. The representative collecting the plates must present:

• a passport with a registration stamp or an ID card with an extract;
• the taxpayer registration number.

Upon issuance, the vehicle owner or their authorized representative signs the registration log, and the plate details are immediately entered into the Unified State Register of Vehicles.

After receiving the plates, the owner must re-register the vehicle within ten days. This process will result in a new registration certificate, which will include a note in the 'Special Remarks' section indicating the personalized plate information. It is important to note that if the order is not collected within one year from the payment date, it will be canceled, and the costs for manufacturing and services will not be refunded.
