Russian Occupier Losses for January 2023

According to Главком: According to information provided by Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, total Russian occupier losses in January 2023 reached 31,700 personnel. This figure exceeds the enemy's replenishment for the same period by 9,000 individuals. This trend indicates a reduction in the combat potential of Russian forces on the front line. The data highlights the ongoing intensity of the conflict, now in its third year.

Actions of Ukrainian Military Forces

Throughout January, Ukrainian military forces executed 48 fire missions targeting the Russian oil and gas industry. As a result, Ukraine managed to reduce Russia's total oil refining capacity by 19%, equivalent to 53.4 million tons per year. Furthermore, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted 80 airstrikes, while Ukrainian attack drones carried out more than 300,000 special missions.

Oleksandr Syrskyi also noted that due to strikes on enemy airfields, the adversary's use of guided aerial bombs decreased by 5%. In January, air defense forces destroyed 21,700 aerial targets and 21,600 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types. It should be noted that over the last six months, the size of the enemy grouping has remained stable at 711,000–712,000 personnel, including operational reserves.

The official number of fallen Ukrainian servicemen currently stands at 55,000 individuals. Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized that

"the enemy's total losses in the first month of the year amounted to 31,700 personnel, which is 9,000 higher than its replenishment volume for the same period. This trend must be continued and strengthened."

These figures point to the continuation of intense combat operations on the front and Ukraine's efforts to degrade the enemy's military potential. The increasing effectiveness of Ukrainian attacks on strategic objects, such as the oil and gas sector, could significantly impact Russian military resources. Maintaining this trend is crucial, as reducing enemy losses is vital for ensuring Ukraine's security and territorial integrity.
