YouTube blocked the channel that gathered information about Russian athletes' support for the war
A channel of the Base of Ukrainian sports project was blocked on YouTube
According to glavcom.ua: A channel of the Base of Ukrainian sports project was blocked on YouTube, which collected information about Russians supporting the war. Although the channel's authors tried to appeal this decision, their appeal was also rejected.
The channel posted videos with evidence of Russian athletes' support for the war. These were used by leading media in Ukraine and around the world. Soon the channel was deleted, but the authors emphasized that they did not violate copyright and laws, despite criticism of Russian athletes.
The channel's removal occurred at night Kyiv time. Now the project's authors suspect that this was done due to pressure from Russian forces on their information resource.
We are seeking help in restoring the channel and emphasize that we will continue the fight against injustice, the authors of the project stated.
Achievements of Russian fencer at the World Championship
Russian fencer Yana Egoryan became the world champion in fencing, defeating Polish athlete Zuzanna Cesliar in the final with a score of 15:11.
It is worth noting that Yana Egoryan is a representative of the public movement 'Healthy Homeland,' which actively operates in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This movement is also linked to cases of abduction of Ukrainian children, so the athlete's success has sparked mixed reactions.
After the blocking of the Base of Ukrainian sports project channel on YouTube and the victory of Russian fencer Yana Egoryan at the World Fencing Championship, the situation in the sports environment remains tense, and the question of support for the war and the political connections of athletes prompts discussion.
