Ukrainians Will Have a New Night-Train Option to Germany Beginning August 1

New International Rail Service for Ukrainian Travelers

According to Radiotrek — Світ: Ukrainians will soon have a direct overnight train option to Germany, adding a new rail corridor between Eastern and Western Europe. The initiative was made public on July 31, 2026, and daily departures are scheduled to begin on August 1, 2026, running between Przemyśl in Poland and Frankfurt am Main in Germany. Ukrzaliznytsia has timed its connections so passengers from Ukraine can complete the journey with just one transfer at the Polish rail hub.

The train travels through Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany. It leaves Przemyśl at 12:04 and arrives in Frankfurt am Main at 07:22 the next morning. In the reverse direction, departure from Frankfurt is at 15:03, with arrival back in Przemyśl at 11:25. Stops along the way include Weissenfels, Naumburg, Apolda, Gotha, Eisenach, Hanau, and Offenbach.

At Przemyśl, the schedule is synchronized with several Ukrzaliznytsia trains from major Ukrainian cities: #51/52 from Kyiv, #31/32 from Zaporizhzhia/Dnipro, #69/70 from Kremenchuk, #35/36 from Odesa, and #89/90 from Kyiv. This allows travelers to switch from domestic rail to the international night service without lengthy delays.

The rolling stock features first- and second-class seating as well as Economy Sleeper compartments designed for one to four passengers. Sleepers are equipped with power outlets, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a breakfast included in the ticket price. A separate women-only sleeper compartment is also available for booking.

Tickets cost from €15 (about 766 UAH) for a seat and from €37.5 (approximately 1,890 UAH) for a sleeper.

This Poland–Germany rail link could substantially improve travel options for Ukrainians, particularly in a period of intense mobility across Europe.

The new service is meant to make Germany and other European destinations more accessible from Ukraine. It also has the potential to deepen business and tourism ties between Ukraine and Germany, contributing to economic cooperation and cross-cultural exchange.
