Combat Operations in Ukraine on January 25

According to Главком: Ukrainian forces were engaged in 129 separate combat clashes over the course of January 25. The General Staff reported intense fighting and numerous enemy attacks, which included airstrikes, shelling of civilian settlements, and assaults on Ukrainian defensive positions. Russian forces conducted 61 airstrikes, deployed 155 guided aerial bombs, launched 4,983 kamikaze drones, and carried out 2,782 artillery bombardments.

Situation on the Front Lines

Heavy fighting was reported across multiple sectors of the front. On the Pokrovsk axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled 38 enemy assaults, inflicting casualties of 52 invaders killed and 36 wounded. The attacks occurred near the settlements of:

  • Dorozhnie
  • Rodynske
  • Myrnograd
  • Pokrovsk
  • Kotlyne
  • Udachne
  • Molodetske
  • Filiia
  • Novopavlivka

Ukrainian forces on this axis also destroyed 25 unmanned aerial vehicles, two motor vehicles, a ground-based robotic system, eight units of automotive equipment, and ten enemy personnel shelters.

On the North-Slobozhanske and Kursk axes, the enemy launched two airstrikes, used three guided aerial bombs, and conducted 69 artillery strikes. Ukrainian troops repelled one assault in this area. On the South-Slobozhanske axis, Russian forces attempted assaults near Zelenе, Vovchansk, Prylipka, and Staritsa, as well as towards Izbytske. Ukrainian units repelled eight attacks here, with one engagement still ongoing.

On the Kupiansk axis, six enemy assaults towards Pishchane and Petropavlivka were halted. The Lyman axis also saw active combat, with 12 attacks repelled near Serhiivka, Drobysheve, Kolodiazi, Novoselivka, and Zarichne. On the Sloviansk axis, two attempts to advance near Platonivka and towards Yampil were thwarted, while on the Kramatorsk axis, one attack near Orikhovo-Vasylivka was stopped.

On the Kostiantsynivka axis, occupiers mounted nine assaults near Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Shcherbynivka, and towards Kostiantsynivka and Sofiyivka. On the Oleksandrivske axis, five attacks were halted near Zelenyi Hai, Verbove, Krasnohirske, and towards Novyi Zaporizhzhia. The Huliaipilske axis witnessed 14 assaults near Solodke, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, and towards Varvariyka, Zelene, and Pryluky. On the Orikhiv axis, the enemy attacked twice near Plavni and Stepove.

As of January 25, 2023, the full-scale war in Ukraine had reached its 1,432nd day. The frontline situation remains highly volatile, with intense combat across several sectors. The continued reliance on airstrikes and kamikaze drones underscores the persistent threat. These daily reports highlight the grinding, attritional nature of the conflict, now well into its fourth year, with no immediate signs of de-escalation.
