Shakhtar's Luka Latsabidze Joins Danish Side Vejle on Loan
Luka Latsabidze's Move to Vejle
According to Главком: Shakhtar Donetsk defender Luka Latsabidze has joined Danish Superliga club Vejle on a loan deal that runs until the end of the 2025/26 season. The central defender, who was signed by Shakhtar for 700,000 euros in February 2024, leaves the Ukrainian club without having made a senior appearance. This move to Denmark offers the young Georgian a chance to gain crucial first-team experience in a competitive European league.
Latsabidze's Career Path
During the first part of the current campaign, Latsabidze played for Dinamo Tbilisi in his native Georgia, scoring one goal and providing one assist across 14 league matches. He spent the 2024/25 season playing for Chornomorets Odesa in the Ukrainian Premier League. The 21-year-old, a product of Dinamo Tbilisi's academy, now joins Vejle, a club currently sitting in 12th place in the Danish top-flight standings.
The loan to Vejle represents a significant opportunity for Latsabidze's development, as regular playing time in Denmark should help him refine his skills at an international level. For Shakhtar, this arrangement allows them to monitor the player's progress closely and assess his potential for a future role at the club upon the loan's conclusion in 2026.
