Salaries in Poland reached 10 thousand zlotys: who earns the most

The average salary in Poland in February 2026 amounted to almost 10 thousand zlotys gross. However, half of the employees earned no more than 7690.82 zlotys before taxes. This is reported by TSN citing data from the Polish labor market.

According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland, the average salary in February reached 9966.32 zlotys gross. The median salary was 22.8% lower. This means that the figure of almost 10 thousand zlotys does not reflect the income of the majority of workers.

What salaries did employees in Poland receive in 2026

The level of remuneration significantly depended on the size of the employer. In enterprises with a thousand or more employees, the median salary amounted to 9146.18 zlotys, while the average reached 11,801.15 zlotys.

In companies where no more than nine people worked, the median salary was equal to the minimum and amounted to 4806 zlotys. The average figure for such employers was noticeably higher at 6274.16 zlotys.

The distribution of salaries in Poland looked like this:

  • 10% of the lowest-paid workers earned no more than 4806 zlotys;
  • half of the employed earned up to 7690.82 zlotys;
  • 10% of the highest-paid received at least 17,111 zlotys.

The average salary for men was 10,026.76 zlotys, while for women it was 9904.85 zlotys. According to the median figure, the difference was slightly greater: 7753.52 and 7631.04 zlotys respectively.

Who in Poland was paid the most in 2026

The highest median salary was recorded in the mining industry at 13,794.41 zlotys. The highest average payment was in telecommunications, programming, consulting, and computing infrastructure at 16,453.73 zlotys.

The lowest incomes are characteristic of industries with a large number of candidates and low qualification requirements. These include certain administrative, security, and support services.

For foreigners, the most vacancies remain in the hospitality sector, food industry, retail, and logistics. At the same time, employment in the manufacturing industry decreased by about 33 thousand people from January to May. The most noticeable reduction in the number of workers was recorded in the furniture and automotive sectors.
