According to Главком: Jamaica’s national team set a new world record in the mixed 4x100-meter relay at the World Athletics Relays Championships held in Gaborone, Botswana. The Jamaican squad clocked in at 39.99 seconds. The team consisted of:

• Tia Clayton

Notably, the previous world record was held by Canada, which posted a time of 40.07 seconds just minutes before Jamaica’s race.

The competition in Gaborone also saw Jamaica, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Nigeria, the United States, Spain, and Great Britain secure direct spots for the 2027 World Championships in Beijing.
