According to glavcom.ua: The young basketball players of Ukraine U-18 achieved their first victory at the European Championship Division B, taking place in Romania. According to the FBU, in their second group stage match, the wards of Dmytro Zabirchenko managed to defeat the Azerbaijan team with a score of 71:67.

After an even first half, the teams went into the break with Azerbaijan leading by 4 points. The third quarter gave the opponents +12, but the Ukrainian players made a push in the fourth quarter and overtime to seize victory.

A dramatic game and the names of heroes

In the composition of the Ukrainian team, Ilya Gogulenko stood out with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Stefan Zigelshiffer scored 16 points, while Vladyslav Synnyk recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The next match for the Ukrainian team will take place on July 27 at 18:00 against the hosts Romania, who also won one of the matches in the tournament.
