Zelensky at the Staff: How Ukraine Counteracts Drone Strikes and Finances Interceptors
Staff Meeting on Countering Russian Strikes
According to ХВИЛЯ: On December 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a Staff meeting where they discussed issues related to countering Russian drone strikes, as well as the functioning of the 'Drone Line' and financing the production of drone interceptors. During the meeting, attention was drawn to the need for modernization of the drone distribution system, which is intended to increase the effectiveness of protecting Ukrainian airspace.
Threats from Belarus
Zelensky noted that Russia is trying to bypass Ukrainian defensive positions through the territory of Belarus. According to him, antennas installed on the rooftops of five-story buildings in Belarus are used for guiding 'Shaheds' to targets in Ukraine. This, in the president's opinion, is 'absolute contempt for human lives' and poses risks for Belarus.

In this regard, Zelensky instructed that changes to the air defense strategy be developed at the next Staff meeting to strengthen the country's defense capabilities in the face of new threats.
The Staff meeting emphasizes Ukraine's active efforts to counter new challenges arising from aggression by Russia. In particular, the focus on modernization of drone systems and changes in air defense strategies indicates the willingness of Ukrainian leadership to adapt to the conditions of modern warfare and enhance the level of security. These measures may be critically important for ensuring the protection of civilian objects and preserving human lives in the face of new threats.
