Commander-in-Chief Briefing and Enemy Losses

According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received an update from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, regarding frontline activity. During the meeting, Zelenskyy stated that Russian Federation losses since the start of 2026 have exceeded 145,000 personnel. This figure includes:

• nearly 86,000 killed,
• at least 59,000 severely wounded,
• and more than 800 taken as prisoners of war.

The president emphasized that defense forces in the border region of Sumy Oblast are achieving their set objectives, while Ukrainian soldiers continue to eliminate enemy personnel and equipment on other fronts.

“I particularly want to thank our drone operators for their precision. Active operations are ongoing, and the paratroopers and assault troops deserve special recognition. I am grateful to every Ukrainian unit that delivers results!” the president said.

Visit to Slavutych and Defense Discussions

Additionally, Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to the city of Slavutych to meet with community leaders and discuss the defense of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. During this visit, plans were outlined to strengthen air defense systems in northern communities near Belarus, as Russia views both Belarus and the Bryansk region as potential staging grounds for new attacks on Ukraine.

These developments underscore the strategic importance of securing Ukraine’s northern borders, especially amid the escalating conflict with Russia. Given the high enemy losses, the Ukrainian military continues to conduct active operations on the front, demonstrating its readiness to counter any threats.
