Zelenskyy Sets Condition for Forcing Russia Into Peace
Address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
According to ХВИЛЯ: Speaking on June 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine can compel Russia to agree to peace-provided that G7 partners follow through on their commitments. He emphasized that modern military technology makes occupation increasingly difficult for the aggressor, and reiterated that Ukraine never sought war, having desired peace and justice from the very beginning of the conflict. Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude to the air assault forces and the 100th separate mechanized brigade for their service.
Successful Strikes on Russian Targets
The president detailed successful long-range strikes on Russian assets. Among the targets hit were a large stockpile of Baltic Fleet munitions destroyed near Saint Petersburg, as well as facilities producing critical missile components in Voronezh. Strikes were also carried out against a plant in Cheboksary using Flamingo missiles, and gas infrastructure in the Orenburg region-located more than 1,200 kilometers from the front line-was damaged.
In response, Russia has been redeploying its air defense systems. Hundreds of S-400, S-500, and Pantsir launchers have been positioned in the Moscow region, while nearly 90 launchers have been moved to Valdai. Moscow is also pulling air defense assets toward the capital, Valdai, and the Kerch Bridge area, at the expense of other fronts.
Zelenskyy also noted that more than 60 Russian regions are experiencing fuel shortages, accompanied by rising gasoline and diesel prices. Amid these difficulties, Russian security services have proposed postponing or canceling the September elections to the State Duma.
“Everything depends on the partners’ decision regarding what was agreed upon within the G7.” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy
“They are protecting their power, protecting the source of this war,” he added, underscoring the importance of international support for achieving peace. A Drone Deals program is being prepared with partners, further demonstrating Ukraine’s active response to aggression.
Zelenskyy’s speech highlights the decisive role of international backing in the war with Russia and showcases the proactive operations of Ukrainian forces. Successful strikes on strategic targets inside Russia demonstrate Ukraine’s modern warfare capabilities, while Russia’s internal challenges-particularly fuel shortages-could undermine its military effectiveness. The decisions made by G7 partners in this context may significantly alter the course of events on the battlefield and in the political landscape of both nations.
