Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić traveled to Ukraine on September 18, 2026, to participate in the 'Carpathian Integration Initiative' meeting. Representatives from Hungary are expected to join the summit at a later date.

This initiative marks a historic milestone by bringing together all Carpathian countries for the first time, fostering stronger regional ties. President Zelensky expressed his satisfaction with the diverse participation, stating:

“I am delighted to welcome here, in our Ukrainian Carpathians, the presidents of Romania and Serbia, Poland’s prime minister, and representatives from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Austria.”
