Zelensky signed a law guaranteeing 15 days of leave for military personnel

According to glavcom.ua: Deputy Head of the President’s Office Pavlo Palisa emphasized that the law grants servicemen the right to a guaranteed leave of 15 out of 30 days of annual basic leave. The other 15 days are provided depending on the possibilities in the unit.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a law on new guarantees for annual leave for servicemen. This is reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the project card of the law.

Also, combat participants will now have the opportunity to receive an additional 14 days of leave that were inactive during the state of war. Contract servicemen aged 18-24 who do not have higher education and are studying will now have the right to leave for exams.

The law comes into effect one month after its publication. Earlier, military ombudsman Olga Reshetilova stated that servicemen could receive a total of 54 days of leave.

It should be noted that the provision for an additional 14 days of leave for military personnel existed before but was canceled after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. The signed law added a provision for combat participants for another 14 days of leave per year. As for the guaranteed 15 days of leave per year for military personnel, such a provision did not exist before.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law guaranteeing servicemen a monetary compensation for all unused days of leave in case of dismissal from service.

Additionally, the government decided to launch a separate direction of the program 'Contract 18-24' for drone operators serving in the Armed Forces, National Guard, and State Border Service.

Ukrainian servicemen will receive more leaves thanks to the new law that grants them the right to guaranteed leaves, including additional days for combat participants and contract servicemen. This is an important step towards improving the living and working conditions of military units in the country.
