On October 29, Erdogan spoke by phone with then-U.S. President Donald Trump, expressing Turkey’s willingness to facilitate the resumption of diplomatic dialogue between Ukraine and Russia. Erdogan emphasized Ankara’s commitment to promoting an end to the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
Commenting on his visit, Zelensky stated: 'Our team has arrived in Istanbul. Ahead of us are critical negotiations with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. We are focused on bolstering the safety of our people, deepening the partnership with Turkey, and advancing tangible diplomatic prospects. Key issues include maritime navigation in the Black Sea.'
Advancing Diplomatic Efforts
