Zelensky appointed a new head of Odessa: who will lead the city
Serhiy Lysak has been appointed as the head of the Odesa City Military Administration in the Odesa region. This news was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. This appointment became known through the decree of the head of state No. 119/2025-rp, which was published on the official website of the president.Serhiy Lysak previously headed the Security Service of Ukraine in the Zhytomyr region and then served as the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration. The next stage of his career became leading the Odesa City Military Administration.It is also worth noting that President Zelensky stripped the mayor of Odessa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, of Ukrainian citizenship due to his possession of a Russian passport and violations of constitutional norms. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, Trukhanov has been a citizen of Russia since 2015, which served as another argument in stripping him of Ukrainian citizenship.
