According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has released figures detailing the scale of Russian attacks in January 2026, with a particular focus on strikes against critical infrastructure. In a social media address, he called on international partners to urgently bolster Ukraine's air defense systems. He revealed that in that single month, Russia deployed:

  • more than 6,000 attack drones,
  • approximately 5,500 guided aerial bombs,
  • 158 missiles of various types.

Zelenskyy stressed that the majority of these assaults targeted energy facilities, railways, and other systems essential for maintaining a semblance of normal life in Ukraine. According to the president's data, just in the preceding week, Ukraine recorded:

  • over 980 attack UAVs,
  • nearly 1,100 aerial bombs,

This relentless aerial campaign underscores the ongoing intensity of the conflict, now in its fourth year.

Mounting Strain on Ukrainian Infrastructure

These statistics highlight a sharp escalation in hostilities and the severe strain placed on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. Strengthening military support from international partners is now critically important for Ukraine's defense capabilities and for protecting its civilian population from further attacks.
