Air Defense Tops Ukraine’s Diplomatic Agenda Until August, Zelensky Declares
Key Diplomatic Priorities for Ukraine
According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made securing air defense systems (ADS) the primary diplomatic objective through August. In his evening address marking the 1,581st day of the war, he assigned personal accountability to diplomats for achieving this goal. The president stressed that the timeline for ADS deliveries is critical for Ukraine, urging the government team, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Defense to focus on tangible results in this area.
Why Air Defense Matters
Zelensky also disclosed that detailed meetings with the diplomatic team had taken place to outline steps leading up to August.
“The schedule for air defense supplies is the key timeline for Ukraine, and it is the personal responsibility of diplomats,” he stated.
This initiative underscores the nation’s urgent need for modern air defense capabilities amid the ongoing conflict.
Additionally, the president recognized the Security Service of Ukraine’s Alpha Special Operations Center as a leader in neutralizing enemy forces. He reported that at least 20% of strikes against Russian troops have been achieved thanks to Alpha operators.
“On the front line, at least 20% of strikes against Russian forces are thanks to Alpha,” Zelensky emphasized.
Members of this elite unit received state awards for their bravery and accomplishments.
