Ukraine buys French Rafale fighters: what the deal with France means

On Monday, November 17, Ukraine and France signed an agreement for the acquisition of Rafale fighters, missiles, and SAMP/T air defense systems. The broadcast of this event was held on the website of the President of Ukraine.

The declaration of cooperation in the field of defense equipment acquisition was signed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of France Emmanuel Macron. The meeting took place in Paris, where the 'historical agreement' was discussed.

The agreement provides for the supply of air defense systems, military aircraft, and missiles to strengthen Ukraine's defense. It has been announced the development of aviation and the delivery of Rafale fighter jets as part of a 10-year agreement. This indicates the broad opportunities for cooperation between the countries.

Among the important areas of military assistance is the supply of Rafale fighters, the development of aviation, and SAMP/T air defense systems. Rafale fighters are the most maneuverable and versatile aircraft, with a maximum speed of up to 2203 km/h and a combat load of up to 9.5 tons.
