According to МЗС: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has announced that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Damascus, Syria. This trip marks a significant step in re-establishing diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Syria, which were restored following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime. In December 2024, Ukraine became the first ministerial-level delegation to visit Damascus. During the visit, the presidents of Ukraine and Syria held 'a very substantive conversation regarding specific directions for the development of our bilateral cooperation.' Sybiha expressed confidence in the 'excellent prospects' for collaboration between the two states.
