Revamping Service Rules for Foreign Volunteers in Ukraine’s Military

According to ХВИЛЯ: During a recent meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, updates to the service regulations for foreign volunteers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were reviewed alongside new strategies within the Military Medical Forces. Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara and Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi presented detailed reports on these developments.

President Zelensky emphasized the necessity of establishing a clear legal framework to facilitate the participation of international volunteers in Ukraine’s defense efforts.

“Everyone who recognizes the global significance of defending Ukraine’s independence deserves the opportunity to contribute and receive proper respect,” the president affirmed.

Reforms in Medical Services and Strengthening Air Defense

Following leadership changes in the Military Medical Forces, plans are underway to implement new management approaches and improve response systems. Additionally, the president approved expanded operational tactics to counter Russian attacks, including enhanced strike capabilities targeting deeper enemy positions.

“The priority is to scale up successful methods already proven in combat brigades and effective brigade support units. Expanding the proven experience of our Defense Forces is essential for commanders at every level,” Zelensky added.

President Zelensky also expressed gratitude to developers, manufacturers, and engineers working on countermeasures against Shahed-type rocket drones. “Several innovations have already demonstrated their effectiveness by successfully intercepting these rockets,” he noted. Future plans include systematic deployment of these defenses, consistent operational success, and large-scale production.
