The draw for the Round of 16 of the Champions League for the 2025/2026 season took place in Nyon, Switzerland. As a result, the Portuguese Benfica, featuring Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin, will once again face off against Real Madrid. The matchup between the Ukrainian player and the Spanish giant will occur in the first stage of the tournament's playoffs. UEFA reports.

The draw took place at UEFA's headquarters, with former Arsenal and French national team player Robert Pires participating in the procedure. As a result, 16 clubs learned their opponents in the fight for a place in the next round.

Champions League Draw: Silver Path

In the so-called Silver Path, the following pairs were formed:

  • Benfica (Portugal) – Real Madrid (Spain)

  • Monaco (France) – PSG (France)

  • Galatasaray (Turkey) – Juventus (Italy)

  • Borussia (Germany) – Atalanta (Italy)

Champions League Draw: Blue Path

The pairs for the Blue Path look like this:

  • Karabakh (Azerbaijan) – Newcastle (England)

  • Brugge (Belgium) – Atletico Madrid (Spain)

  • Bodø/Glimt (Norway) – Inter (Italy)

  • Olympiacos (Greece) – Bayer Leverkusen (Germany)

The draw for the next stages of the Champions League will take place after the conclusion of the Round of 16 matches. It is planned to hold the procedure on February 27.

It should be noted that UEFA did not support the proposal regarding changes to the offside rule, which could significantly impact football battles in the future.
