The Women's National Team of Ukraine learned about potential opponents in the EuroBasket qualifiers
According to glavcom.ua: A total of 38 European teams have registered to participate in the EuroBasket-2027 qualifiers for women, which will be divided into two stages - the first round and the second round.
The women's national basketball team of Ukraine has been placed in the second pot before the draw for the first round of qualifying for Euro-2027 among women, which will take place on July 23 in Munich, Germany. This was reported by 'Hlavkom' referring to the FBU.
Seven teams that will participate in the World Championship qualifiers in 2026 - Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, and Turkey - have received automatic passage to the second round.
In the first round, 27 teams will compete, divided into six groups of four teams and one group of three teams. Before the group draw, these teams were divided into four pots according to the FIBA world rankings.
The Ukrainian team has moved to the second pot and will definitely not play against Latvia, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, Switzerland, and Israel.
According to the format, the two best teams from each group, as well as the three best third-placed teams, will advance to the second round.
Matches of the first round are scheduled to take place from November 9 to 19, 2025, and from March 8 to 18, 2026. The second round matches will be held from November 8 to 18, 2026, and from February 7 to 17, 2027. Each international window will have three playing days for each team.
