According to glavcom.ua: The Ukrainian women's volleyball team showed impressive results at the 2025 World Championship, advancing from the group after a 31-year victory over the Cameroon national team. They took third place in a tough group, where serious teams such as Serbia and Japan achieved victories. Head coach Jakub Glushak expressed confidence in the further development of the team and promised an even stronger performance next season.
«We did a good job. The first victory in many years is very important for us. This is a huge experience for our team to play against great opponents - it’s really cool. We lacked a little to win, but this experience is great,» said Valeria Nudyga.
«Everyone is happy that we won. We are going home in a good mood. We are satisfied with how we fought during this tournament. They never gave up, were hungry for results, and fought for victory. I am proud of this team. I want to congratulate this team, they are amazing,» noted Glushak.
«Comeback after 2:9 against Cameroon? We started not very well, but in the middle of the set, we began to communicate better, there was better connection. This was not the limit for this group. We need to improve in certain aspects of the game, but over the summer, we did a great job with this team. We will do everything possible to show that Ukraine can play great volleyball,» said Glushak.
The Ukrainian volleyball players showed their strength and exceeded expectations in hopes of further success. They are ready for new challenges and plan to elevate their level of play in the future.
