Girona confirms €1 million plan to sign Ukrainian forward Pyshchur
Girona targets Oleksandr Pyshchur in upcoming transfer window
According to Главком: Girona head coach Míchel Sánchez has confirmed the club's intention to acquire Oleksandr Pyshchur, a striker currently with Hungarian side Győr and the Ukraine U-21 national team. The deal is valued at €1 million and is expected to be finalized during the off-season. Once completed, Pyshchur would become the fourth Ukrainian player on Girona's roster.
Current Girona squad and injury update
Girona's current Ukrainian players include:
- Vladyslav Krapyvtsov
- Viktor Tsyhankov
- Vladyslav Vanat
Artem Dovbyk also played for the team last summer. However, Vanat has prematurely ended his season due to a hamstring injury, with recovery expected to take 10–12 weeks.
The 21-year-old Pyshchur has recorded 33 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring six goals. He is the son of a former top scorer for Ukrainian club Volyn Lutsk. A winter move for Pyshchur fell through, but Girona is now prepared to proceed with the signing.
This transfer could mark a significant step for Girona, as the club continues to integrate Ukrainian talent into its squad. Bringing in a young forward may not only bolster the team's attacking options but also provide Pyshchur with a platform to advance his career in European football. Given the growing competition within the squad, he will have the opportunity to prove himself at a higher level.
