Abuse in the military unit: the deputy commander is suspected of illegally paying 430 thousand UAH

Illegal monetary reward payment

The former logistics chief - deputy commander of the military unit illegally paid over 430 thousand UAH in additional monetary rewards to a subordinate serviceman. This was reported by the specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the Southern region.

It was established by preliminary investigation that from April to September 2023, the accused systematically prepared and issued reports, in which he included false information about the subordinate's direct participation in combat actions. Subsequently, he approved documents with his personal signature and sent them to the command of the military unit for issuing an order, based on which the unlawful accrual and payment of increased rewards were made. As a result of the unlawful actions of the accused, the state incurred damages in the amount of over 430 thousand UAH.

The serviceman is accused of abusing his official position (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and issuing knowingly false official documents by an official (part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The head of the quality control group of one of the military representations of the Ministry of Defense previously embezzled 5.4 million UAH intended for the repair of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A significant amount of monetary reward was illegally paid to the subordinate serviceman through forged reports about his participation in combat actions. Such actions violate the law and cause harm to the state.
