According to Главком: The Armed Forces of Ukraine have introduced a newly developed laser-based training system for operators of the FIM-92 Stinger man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS), as announced by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense. This simulator is specifically designed to prepare soldiers who use Stinger missiles to counter Russian attack drones, particularly the Shahed kamikaze UAVs. Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, these American-made MANPADS have been a critical asset for Ukraine, using infrared seekers to lock onto the heat signature of Shahed drone engines and destroy them with direct hits.
