Germany transferred 10,000 Starlink to Ukraine: how it saved communication during attacks

Today, an exciting meeting took place in Kyiv with Heiko Thomas, who is the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine. Germany is an important strategic partner for Ukraine in digitalization.

During this meeting, gratitude was expressed to Germany for supplying 10,000 Starlink, which were handed over by the Government of Germany to Ukraine. This significantly contributed to ensuring uninterrupted communication for critical infrastructure during the most challenging moments of energy attacks.

Development of Diya.Engine and state registries

With the support of Germany, the Ukrainian side is successfully developing the innovative digital platform Diya.Engine for the creation of state registries. One of these registries is the Registry of damaged and destroyed property, which has registered over 1 million reports from Ukrainians and more than 305 thousand buildings and structures that have been affected by the war. This registry forms the basis for the 'eRecovery' program, which brings together efforts to restore affected objects and promotes transparent rebuilding in Ukraine.

With Diya.Engine, Ukrainians can access various state services in just a few clicks. Based on this platform, 82 state information systems and registries have been created.

Participation in the Tallinn mechanism and cooperation in defense tech

Germany actively participates in the Tallinn mechanism and supports training for cybersecurity specialists at CDTO Campus. This meeting also discussed cooperation in defense tech projects. Ukraine is ready to share its experience in technological warfare, develop joint research, and test European technological products on its territory.

Ukraine expressed gratitude to Germany for its steadfast and consistent support on these issues.
