According to hvylya.net: Collectors are experiencing a real frenzy over rare Ukrainian coins, which are simply skyrocketing in price! For example, a variety of the 1 hryvnia coin from 1992 with a smooth edge and no inscription can cost from 12 to 37 thousand hryvnias! And the 1 hryvnia coin from 2001 can easily rip off 5000 hryvnias from you. Interestingly, it is the smooth edge that makes these coins so special.
Fraudsters often try to forge rare coins by cutting inscriptions off ordinary ones. Experts recommend carefully checking the authenticity of coins based on their parameters. The National Bank of Ukraine, despite the increased interest in small denominations, currently does not plan to change the design of 1 and 2 hryvnia coins until the situation in the country stabilizes.
So, collectors, stay vigilant! Fraudsters are always lurking, but if you have a genuine rare coin, you may very well be the happy owner of a valuable treasure!
