Today marks 100 years since the birth of the outstanding art historian Lyudmyla Semenivna Milyaeva. She was born on November 13, 1925, in Kharkiv and passed away on October 29, 2022, in Kyiv.

The scholar held a Doctorate in Art Studies since 1987 and was a professor from 1990. She was also known as a full member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine since 2000. She made a mark in the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine since 1956 and in the Shevchenko Scientific Society since 2001.

Milyaeva specialized in the field of Ukrainian artistic culture from the medieval period to the baroque. She taught students the history of art and architecture in Ukrainian lands from ancient Rus' times to the 18th century.

Milyaeva was also the author of the course 'The Phenomenon of Ukrainian Baroque' for master's students, and her publications and lectures significantly enriched the study of Ukrainian art.

This news marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian art historian Lyudmyla Semenivna Milyaeva, who made a significant contribution to the study of Ukrainian art, especially in the field of Ukrainian baroque. Her works and activities in the scientific community will long be remembered by generations.
