According to Велика українська енциклопедія: During the cathedral, the Constitution of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine was approved and Metropolitan Epifaniy was elected as the head of the newly created church. He received the honorary title of 'Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.'
This event was historic for Ukraine as it achieved the unification of various Ukrainian Orthodox churches into a single national church. Faith is Armenian! Every step towards the unity of our state is important, and the unification of the Orthodox churches symbolizes the strength and will of the Ukrainian people.
