Today marks the 156th anniversary of the birth of Archimandrite Klymentiy Sheptytsky - a prominent church and public figure. He was born on November 17, 1869, in the village of Prilbychi in Lviv region, and died on May 1, 1951, in the city of Vladimir, which is now part of the Russian Federation.

Klymentiy Sheptytsky is known as the Apostolic Exarch of Eastern Rite Catholics of Greater Russia and Siberia, archimandrite of the Studite monastic order, a doctor of law, and a blessed of the Catholic Church. He was also the brother of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky.

From 1900 to 1906, Sheptytsky was also a deputy of the Galician Sejm and a member of the Austrian Parliament, which made him a well-known figure in political circles. In addition, he was remarkable in managing agriculture and was interested in forestry.

After his political career, Archimandrite Klymentiy Sheptytsky devoted himself to church and public work, dedicating his life to serving people.
