Bohdan Popov on the call-up to the Ukraine national team: I have always dreamed of playing for it

According to glavcom.ua: Young Ukrainian forward Bohdan Popov scored a double in his first match for the Italian club 'Empoli' and received a call-up to the Ukraine U-21 national team. In a comment, he shared his joy and readiness to contribute to the national team, noting that first he needs to find his place in the squad.

‘I have always dreamed of playing for the national team and I am ready to contribute to it. But first, I need to find my place there,’ Popov said.

He also stressed that he does not analyze his achievements too much, but simply works on himself, fulfilling the coach's tasks and thoroughly preparing for each match.

In the qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup, the Ukraine national football team drew with Azerbaijan – 1:1, but their next test awaits them on October 10 in a showdown against Iceland. Earlier, the Ukrainian team lost to France with a score of 0:2, but the fans showed their support by displaying a banner that read 'Fortress of Europe.'
