Forgotten Genius of Lviv: Who Shaped the Modern Look of the City

According to Велика українська енциклопедія: Today we celebrate the 89th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding architect Zinoviy Vasylovych Pidlisnyi. He was born in the picturesque village of Bilyavintsi in the Ternopil region and left indelible marks on the development of architecture, particularly in Lviv.

Zinoviy Vasylovych Pidlisnyi, the author of numerous objects in Lviv, is known as a member of the Union of Architects of the Ukrainian SSR, a laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR, and a Honored Architect of Ukraine. He was involved in urban planning, participated in the development of the city’s master plan, residential areas, and public buildings, and his works are recognized both in Ukraine and abroad.

One of Zinoviy Vasylovych's most famous projects was the resort of Truskavets, which he built from 1966 to 1979. This project received the Council of Ministers of the USSR Award and allowed the architect to showcase his talent in all its glory.
