22-year-old criminal tortured a soldier in Odesa region: wanted to seize money for injuries

According to Главком: A 22-year-old criminal tortured a 23-year-old serviceman in the Odesa region, trying to seize his compensation money for injuries. The incident took place in July 2023 in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. The criminal seized 29 thousand hryvnias and forced the victim to withdraw an additional 20 thousand hryvnias.

Consequences of the Crime

As a result of the torture, the victim sustained serious injuries, including a closed head injury, a concussion, and a nasal bone fracture. The criminal was arrested by law enforcement, who conducted an investigation into this crime. He now faces up to 15 years of imprisonment with property confiscation.

This case draws attention to the issue of violence and crime in the country, especially in the context of military actions. Additionally, there was recently a fight in Odesa during the transportation of a man who violated military registration rules. In connection with this, a case has been sent to court against an employee of the TCK accused of beating fighter Roman Pokidko.
