Danilo Podibailo: how a singer and musician became a Hero of Ukraine

On November 24, the 29th birthday of the Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) Danilo Andriievych Podibailo is celebrated. He was born in the city of Donetsk in 1996 and died in 2023 in the village of Klishchiyivka, Bakhmut district of Donetsk region.

Danilo Podibailo was a poet, musician, volunteer, soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, aerial scout, and participant in the Russo-Ukrainian war. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine in 2023.

'Supported the Revolution of Dignity. Since 2014, he actively participated in the work of the volunteer center "New Mariupol," created by his mother, public figure Maria Podibailo.'

He also authored songs dedicated to the events on the Maidan and the war in Donbas. Danilo sang at patriotic events in Mariupol and organized concerts for military units.

At the "Red Ruta-2015" festival in Mariupol, he received the 3rd prize in the "Acoustic Music" category.

Danilo Podibailo, a Hero of Ukraine who died at the age of 27, was a bright and tireless patriot who actively supported the Ukrainian army and soldiers on the front lines, as well as sharing music and poetry with his compatriots. His contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and the support of the country's defense capabilities will always be remembered and honored by the Ukrainian people.
