Today marks the 162nd anniversary of the birth of the outstanding writer and public and cultural figure Olga Yulianivna Kobylianska. She was born in the city of Gura-Humora, now in Romania, and died in Chernivtsi, which now belongs to Ukraine. Olga wrote in both Ukrainian and German.

The early works written in German were not published during her lifetime. In them, she explored possible options for women's lives and created vivid character images. Her first published story was 'The Man', which was released in 1894 in the Lviv magazine 'Zorya'. Additionally, Olga also published articles in various publications.

The biography of Olga Kobylianska reflects the extraordinary talent and active civic stance of the writer, who made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian literature and culture.
