Patriarch Filaret Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Enthronement: Online Broadcast of Services

According to glavcom.ua: On Wednesday, October 22, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate celebrates the 30th anniversary of the enthronement of Patriarch Filaret. This was reported by the press service of the UOC KP.

Festive services will be held in the main cathedral of Kyiv with the participation of Patriarch Filaret, bishops, and clergy of the Kyiv Patriarchate. These events will be available for viewing online on the church's YouTube channel.

Schedule of festive services:

• October 18 at 17:00 - All-night vigil;
• October 19 at 10:00 - Divine Liturgy and greetings from Patriarch Filaret.

After the Unification Council, which dissolved the UOC KP and created the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate decided to continue its activities. Patriarch Filaret actively meets with politicians, church figures, and laypeople, conducts services, and remains an active patriarch.

After receiving the Tomos of autocephaly from the Ecumenical Patriarch, Filaret issued a statement about the continued existence of the Kyiv Patriarchate and his own leadership. The newly created Orthodox Church of Ukraine expressed support for Metropolitan Epifaniy and recognized the documents of the UOC KP issued after January 30, 2019, as invalid.

The Hierarchical UOC KP celebrated the 30th anniversary of the enthronement of Patriarch Filaret with solemn services in Kyiv. Patriarch Filaret continues active church activities after the creation of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, which recognized the Kyiv Patriarchate as invalid.
