The Life and Service of Hennadii Tyvaniuk

According to Главком: Senior Soldier Hennadii Tyvaniuk died on March 3, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region. His death marks another tragic chapter in the Russo-Ukrainian war and has left a profound impact on his family and loved ones.

Born on July 23, 1973, in the city of Bratsk, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, Tyvaniuk moved to the Rivne region as a child, settling in Kuznetsovsk-now known as Varash. There, he attended School No. 1 and later earned a qualification as an equipment installer at Vocational Technical School No. 12.

After completing his mandatory military service, Tyvaniuk worked as a driver for fire stations in Varash and at the Rivneazot plant. He also gained experience as a long-haul truck driver abroad.

A Volunteer Defender of the Homeland

In February 2024, Tyvaniuk voluntarily decided to defend his country. He initially served as a driver-medic in an evacuation unit but was later reassigned to an infantry role due to personnel shortages. At the time of his death, he was 52 years old. For an extended period, he was listed as missing in action before his death was confirmed. Tyvaniuk was laid to rest in the cemetery in Zdolbuniv-2.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, and his mother. Those who knew him remember a man always eager to help others. As his family noted,

“He was the kind of person who always said everything was fine, even when facing tough times and overcoming hardships-he never complained.”

His professional skills proved valuable during his service, and his passion for cars and work never faded. Family always came first for him.

Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians observe a moment of silence to honor all those whose lives have been taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Hennadii Tyvaniuk. Glavcom joins in this tribute.

Tyvaniuk's death underscores the deep losses Ukrainian society continues to endure from the ongoing conflict, now in its third year. His life and service exemplify the dedication and sacrifice shown by many Ukrainian soldiers. Honoring the fallen, as in Tyvaniuk's case, is a vital part of collective memory and helps sustain public morale during these difficult times.

As the conflict continues to take a heavy toll on both military personnel and civilians, the story of Hennadii Tyvaniuk resonates deeply with those who have lost loved ones in the ongoing war. Similarly, the recent loss of another soldier from Lviv underscores the sacrifices made by brave individuals defending their homeland. Each life lost adds to the collective grief felt across the nation, reminding us of the human cost of this conflict.
