Free shuttle for train passengers

According to УНІАН — Туризм: Chișinău International Airport has started a month-long pilot program offering complimentary shuttle rides to people who arrive in Moldova by rail, including travelers from Ukraine. The service connects Revaca station with the airport terminal. Every day at 10:20, passengers can get off at Revaca and take the free bus to the terminal in about five minutes. The initiative is designed to make connections between train and plane smoother for international travelers.

The trip from Chișinău's main railway station to Revaca takes around seven to ten minutes. After the pilot ends, the airport will analyze the results and decide whether to make the shuttle a permanent feature.

The airport's press service (AIC) said: "For many of those who come by train from Ukraine, Chișinău is the point where they continue their journey to other destinations. That is why we are testing the idea of a free transfer from Revaca station directly to the airport terminal."

Better boarding conditions

The airport is also building covered canopies at departure gates due to a shortage of space inside the terminal. These canopies, located on the side of the aircraft parking area, will feature lighting and air conditioning to improve comfort for passengers waiting to board.

The free shuttle may significantly ease travel for rail passengers arriving in Moldova and could encourage greater use of train services. It may also boost Chișinău's appeal as a transit hub, with potential benefits for tourism and the country's economy. Reviewing the pilot's results after the trial month will help determine whether the program should continue or be expanded.

In addition to the new shuttle service, Chisinau Airport is also addressing terminal overcrowding by constructing passenger canopies. These improvements aim to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers, ensuring that both rail and air travelers benefit from increased comfort and convenience during their journeys.
