What will the pension be at 60 years old with 40 years of experience in 2026
In 2026, Ukrainians will be able to retire at 60 with sufficient insurance experience. At the same time, the amount of payments depends not only on the years worked but also on the level of official salary throughout life. This is reported by UNIAN.
Pension at 60 years old 2026: what experience is needed for retirement
According to the Pension Fund, in 2026, a minimum of 33 years of insurance experience is required to retire at 60 years old. If the experience is less, the right to a pension arises later:
-
23 years of experience - retirement at 63
-
15 years of experience - retirement at 65.
The requirements for experience increase every year and will continue to rise until 2028.
At the same time, having 40–45 years of experience allows one to receive a pension immediately at 60 years old without delay.
Pension amount 2026: how payments are calculated with 40 years of experience
The pension amount is determined by a formula that takes into account three main indicators:
-
individual salary coefficient
-
experience coefficient (1% for each year)
-
average salary in the country.
The average salary for calculations in 2026 is 17,482.87 UAH.
Approximate calculations show:
-
with 40 years of experience and a salary of 9,000 UAH - about 3,600 UAH
-
with a salary of 15,000 UAH - about 6,000 UAH.
With longer experience, payments increase:
-
42 years of experience - 3,780–6,300 UAH
-
45 years of experience - 4,050–6,750 UAH.
Additionally, extra payments for overworking experience are calculated. For each year above the basic level, an increase of up to 1% of the pension is provided, but not exceeding the established minimum.
Thus, the longer the experience and the higher the official salary, the larger the pension payments.
We remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine plan to change the pension system by introducing a new point system for pension accruals starting from 2027.
