Which vacancies have the highest competition in Ukraine in August 2026

The Ukrainian labor market in 2026 remains unbalanced. While in advertising, design, and PR dozens of candidates compete for one vacancy, manufacturing, logistics, and construction require thousands of workers. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine referring to data from OLX Work.

The highest competition in July was recorded in the category of 'Advertising/design/PR' - an average of 36.9 responses per vacancy. In July of last year, this figure was 36.6.

Where is the highest competition for a job

In second place are call centers and telecommunications - 30.3 responses per vacancy compared to 26 a year earlier. In the category for students and those starting their careers, the figure was 21 responses, while last year it reached 28.5.

In the IT and computer technology sector, competition decreased from 16.1 to 11.5 responses. Among administrative personnel, HR, and secretaries, the figure fell from 12 to 10.8, and in culture, arts, and entertainment - from 14.2 to 10.

The competition situation looks significantly simpler in medicine and pharmaceuticals, where there are only 2.6 responses per vacancy.

When choosing a job, Ukrainians pay attention not only to salary. According to the research by OLX Work and EBA, among the important factors are also the proximity of the job to home, flexible hours, and official employment.

Where there are the most vacancies and how salaries have increased

Most employees are sought in manufacturing and blue-collar professions. In July, employers posted 19,974 such vacancies. The median salary increased from 22,750 to 28,750 UAH over the year.

In retail, sales, and procurement, there were 19,205 vacancies. The median salary rose from 18,000 to 20,850 UAH.

Logistics, warehousing, and delivery took third place in the number of offers, with 17,640 vacancies. The median salary here rose from 27,700 to 30,875 UAH.

In construction and finishing works, employers offered 10,445 vacancies, and the median salary rose from 31,125 to 38,125 UAH over the year. In the hotel and restaurant business and tourism, there were 8,741 announcements with a salary of 21,000 UAH compared to 17,750 UAH last year.

The shortage of specialists remains a serious problem for businesses. Almost 80% of surveyed employers reported a lack of workers. About 30% of vacancies remain open for more than three months, while less than 6% manage to close faster than a month.

This forces companies to raise salaries and review working conditions. At the same time, the situation significantly depends on the profession: in popular areas among candidates, competition reaches dozens of people per position, while in blue-collar and other deficit specialties, employers are already competing for workers.

Let us remind you that in Ukraine the minimum salary is twice less than in Moldova.
