Recently, an attack occurred on the Belgorod reservoir, the consequences of which were confirmed by satellite images in Russia. The photographs indicate flooding of areas downstream, particularly the water level in the Nezhegol River has risen.

According to analysts from OSINT Intuit, the attack was carried out with a HIMARS missile system with the aim of isolating Russian troops operating in the Vovchansk area of Kharkiv region.
Local Telegram channels confirm that the hydrological situation has changed as a result of water being released from the dam in Shebekino. The governor of Belgorod region claims that the situation is under control, and only a few private households have been affected.
Reactions to the attack
However, Russian authorities confirmed the shelling of the dam, causing damage to technical structures and equipment. According to reports from the 16th army corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian military noted that the reservoir level dropped after the strike, which immediately affected Russian positions.
The commander of the UAV forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the attack was carried out by fighters from the 1st separate center of unmanned systems, targeting the disruption of enemy logistics.
