In Transcarpathia, over 270 individuals involved in illegal border crossings have been identified in the last 9 months. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, 174 individuals have already been sent to court, and 395 have been detained while attempting to leave the country.
One case involved a young man from Tyachiv, who attempted to smuggle two men into Hungary for money. The court sentenced him to 6 years in prison. Other two individuals who organized illegal border crossing for military conscripts were also convicted.
'The prosecutor's office does not overlook any case of illegal border crossing, bringing cases to guilty verdicts,' it was emphasized in the statement.
Efforts continue in Transcarpathia to combat illegal border crossings, embezzlement, and other crimes related to international activities. The prosecutor's office states its consistency in addressing these issues.
