According to a report from 'Hivli', the new rules for traveling abroad for young people aged 18 to 22 have led to a significant increase in layoffs among workers in this age group. The retail chain 'Silpo' employs approximately 3,000 young employees in this category, and after the introduction of new border crossing rules, the number of layoffs has significantly increased, although the share of laid-off workers is less than 3% of the total.
After the update of the state border crossing rules for men in this category, we are gravely recording a noticeable increase in layoffs, said the company 'Silpo'.
Similar issues with layoffs are being faced by the agricultural holding MHP. The head of the HR department of MHP's agricultural direction, Serhiy Nikolaev, noted that the adoption of the law on exit permits for people under 22 has seriously complicated the staffing situation at the company. Investments in the development of young specialists are under threat, and trends indicate a very unfavorable picture.
The bill allowing people to leave until the age of 22 further complicates the situation. The strategies that worked for the last 3-4 years, when the company systematically invested (investments) in youth, were just destroyed in an instant. The trend shows very negative dynamics, emphasized Nikolaev.
After the introduction of the new rules regarding travel abroad for those aged 18 to 22, businesses began to lose employees from this age group. The number of layoffs has increased, creating serious problems for companies that actively utilize youth in their staffing reserves.
